Part of the E17 Art Trail 2012, Waltham Forest Arts Club's annual event Art Grows on Trees takes place in the town square in Walthamstow. Passers-by are invited to take home some free art.
The Whole Picture No.3 is an acrylic painting cut into 25 pieces. Each piece has
been given an identifying code as to its place in the picture. Each piece is an
individual painting, but it is also part of a greater whole. The pieces will
each be “picked” during Art Grows on
Trees, part of the E17 Art Trail 2012. Perhaps one day they will be
re-united and the recipients can see the whole picture. Acrylic on Fabriano paper, Julie Caves 22x30inches.
As part of Simon LaRoche's project in the E17 Art Trail I painted an 8x8 inch canvas with the Waltham Forest Arts Club logo and striped the edges with colours. It is on display at the Hornbeam Centre on Hoe Street E17 along with all the other Happy messages.
I illustrated a gorgeous poem by Julie Ridlington for the Walthamstow Poetry Trail. But an administrative error caused the illustration to be left out. The poems were shown in the windows of participating estate agents along Hoe St. Walthamstow’s very own fine letterpress printers Paekakariki Press has published an anthology of the poems.
For those of you wondering about the empty space on the page below the poem here is what should have been there:
The illustration by Julie Caves intended for Julie Ridlington's poem 'She Calls Me Love'
You could print this out and paste it into the blank space in your anthology :-)
