The Long Conversation: Poetry and Painting
The Long Conversation: Poetry and Painting
“Painting is silent poetry, and poetry painting that speaks.” – Simonides
The exhibition coincides with the Waltham Forest Literature Festival.
For this exhibition artists have interpreted the long-standing relationship between the written word and visual art, in the broadest terms. Poetry that paints a picture, paintings that are full of poetry, text-based work, artists’ books, sound installations, photography, printmaking, sculpture, and poetry readings are all included.
There will be a display of books to read and purchase.
