Waving in the Distance is finally going to open! The exhibition was hung the day before lockdown began, so it will have been up for 6 months quietly waiting for us to come back, gently waving in the distance.
It will be the first show of the new schedule at Terrace Gallery. We are planning a responsible private view. We will not let it get crowded - we have the pub garden, the gallery and the space outside the side door - so we are hoping to cautiously meet up with some distance, if you feel like joining us.
An exhibition at Terrace Gallery in East London showing 17 paintings from six artists, five based in London and one based in Manchester. The painters are all interested in remembered, fractured or imagined landscapes. The paintings include references to the Old Masters, Impressionism, fairy tales, gardens and sunlight. Among other things the artists’ methods include layering, painterly marks and suggestion. The exhibition has been curated by Julie Caves, who is also one of the painters in the show
